Distance Covered: 7 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

After two days of windsurfing - one good:),one not so :( it was time to do something different !!! So Mag and I packed our lunch and went to Levington Marina for beakfast and decide where to walk !!! The west wind was stronger than forecast !!! and it was good to see lots of yachts racing in the river :) Luckily Mag got a Suffolk Walks book from our son Rob for Mothers Day and as it was getting on and we did'nt want to drive far we went to park at the Martlesham Red Lion so we could walk to Woodbridge.
We saw a stoat run across the road on the way and then when we parked a Chaffinch landed on our wing mirror and spent ages attacking it's reflection !!! We started by walking down to Martlesham Creek again and it was nice to see it at high water this time :) we had to stop and let a slow worm cross the path and when we got to the River Deben at Kyson Point the high tide was blocking the footpath !!! so we sat by a hut in a small dinghy park and had our sandwiches with great views of the river and waited for the tide to turn :)
It did'nt take too long for the water to drop so we could then continue along the new river path to Woodbrdge - this bit was busy with people taking their mums out for a stroll. We got as for as the Tide Mill and the man in charge got chatting about the mill and now they have just got a miloion pound lottery grant to do it up and invited us in free of charge to see the water wheel :)
We continued past the marina before turning up into the town where we found a Nero's ,where we stopped for coffee and cake :)
After refreshments we went to Market Hill past the church, the parish pump and the Abbey now a private school before walking past the large cemetery, through Porter's wood, past the sewage works and back to Martlesham Creek now with no water !!! and finally back to the van after another 7 mile hike of over 4 hours !!!
Then when we reached home Mag found that our other son Dan had bought his Mum flowers and nice coffee :)
So a top top weekend - great to be out in the mild sunshine :)
